H1N1

Since last week, a lot of people has been sick in Delhi including Augustin. He got a flu. As I have a sleepless night almost every night, I started to worry about it. I don't want to be sick at least not this time. If I can avoid not to take any medication at the moment, it would be better for my baby. Three days ago, I have sent Augustin back home, as I don't want to be infected and today, he comes back to work even after we told him come back only when he is getting better. Just few days ago, there was a 14 year old girl has died after tested positive H1N1. I'm not worry so much about that, I just don't want to any sickness :-((

Flood in Delhi

Yesterday was a nicest day for me....it was raining the whole day and until this morning. Of course, with the heavy rain like that, we can imagine how Delhi will manage with a lot water. Well, this morning, there is flood everywhere in the city. We live in this funny country; they can build the nuclear weapon but the canalization is full with the rubbish or we don't where the canalization bring the rubbish. With the amount of population, I think that they won't have a problem to find people to clean the whole city. Of course, it is their problem...not mine:-)

Summer vacation in Switzerland

Expecting our first baby....

At last, the secret has been revealed. It is nothing about to keep as a secret. The experience has taught us to be more humble in handling this kind of good news. We always want to share a good news but it depends on which type of good news.

Now that I am pregnant for 6 months and we are really excited for the arrival of our first baby. I did not update my blog for quite sometime due to this news that I don't want to tell anyone about it through this way. We preferred to reveal the story face to face to friends and family. We knew that no one has expected this news. It is a long waiting but finally it arrives without any complicity.

To friends and family: sorry if we did not announce earlier but it was for the good course.

Wonderful thing....has happened

Nadal has lost the match.....................so cruel but so true:-)

Nadal lost in 4th round at Roland Garros....that was the nicest thing ever happened. Congratulation to Robin Soderling who can beat Nadal in this earlier stage of tournament. I think nobody can ever forget this wonderful event. I have been asking myself, why takes so long to study Nadal's weakness until he could win 4 years in a row at Roland Garros.

The groundwork for Nadal's spectacular downfall was provided by Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer two weeks ago in Madrid. In perhaps the most high-intensity three-set match witnessed on clay, Djokovic did everything right except convert one of the three match points he earned during a heart-stopping semifinal against the world No.1. The Serb employed brilliantly crafted passive-aggresive tactics to keep Nadal on court for more than four hours. Federer then pounced to finish Nadal off in the final.

Having studied his mistakes from last year's Paris final mauling, when the Swiss won just for games, Federer used a high-risk strategy in which he kept around his backhand and threw in few slices and drop shots. That was exactly what Soderling did on Sunday.

He surprised Nadal by mixing up his play and adopting an aggressive approach. He belted forehands whether there was an opening or not and surprised Nadal by often charging to the net.

Well.....talking about the weather in Delhi is still unbearable even after having rain on Saturday and Sunday morning. I just can't wait to be some where else at this moment. At least, we have Roland Garros to keep us in front of the TV and not feeling so bore once we have to stay inside. I keep on praying to have more rain in the coming days......:-)

Well, I can see that my blog is a bit empty of story now. It is a lot because of the weather here that does not cooperate so much. Further more, Delhi is almost a dead city during summer. The rich and middle class Indians are all in United States, Canada and Europe at this time, running away from the hit. I just can't wait to be in Switzerland to have a fresh air, to walk on the mountain, to eat and chat with friends. Well, that's all thing that I miss.

What I do during the day? Good question :-) Sleeping as long as I can :-) Then walking a little around the embassy before it is getting hot. Helping Augustin prepare lunch. After that checking my email if there is any:-( And then watching Roland Garros. After having a lunch, continue with Roland Garros. At 6.00pm it is time for the swimming pool. And 8.00pm is a dinner time. After dinner hanging around with my hubby and then again..it is time for bed........
It is boring right, that is why i have nothing to tell in my blog.

Last year at this time, I did not write much either as I too busy at the visa section. Most of friends keep asking me to go out with them, having coffee left and right but for me that is too...such a waste of time and to tell you the truth, I just don't want to suffer under the hit. So I rather waste my time at home...do what ever I think I should do.

Until I find something interesting to tell....

Sarojini Market

It takes me for a while to decide whether I should go to the market here in Delhi. And today, I did it. The weather in Delhi is just unbearable. I went out just for an hour with my cap on my head and sunglasses, but still, my skin is burned. And today, it is about 42 degrees. Everyday, I pray that rain will come to shower Delhi.

At the market, I hardly breath as the place is so dirty and dusty. After half an hour at the market, I feel like I want to go home already. I just can't handle the situation with 42 degrees temperature, with so many people around me - shouting and the worst is the dust. I guess I better wait when the weather is getting better :-)

Since I can't go out, I have nothing much to tell as I see nothing much happening around me but for sure I try to get something interesting to tell.

April's sun

Well, it is just mid-April now but the temperature has gone up to 40 degrees which is a little too early then normal. We feel it and now we can't even have our lunch outside and no more BBQ. It is too hot to do all the outdoor activities. We hope that we will have a little rain to drop down the temperature for a while. At this time, I just hope that I am somewhere else where it is a little bit fresh.

At night, the temperature goes down only to 32 degrees.....huhuhuhu.

It's difficult

There is a time when it is too difficult to handle, I feel like hiding myself in the nature, going back to where I'm coming from. Borneo is really a dream for me to be. With its nature and beauty, it helps me to forget for a while what I am facing. But that is only a dream. We can't always run away when we are facing a bad time. To be in Delhi it is just so hard as nothing here that i can depend on. I love Borneo and hopefully one day I will be there again.

Save our Borneo....

Untold story

Medical Tourism or Health Tourism has become a significant aspect of the global health care and travel industry. India, with its medical skill pool and associated infrastructure has emerged as a major health care destination.

But what happen is when you stay in India you will see yourself how dos it work. It is so sad to see the hygiene at the hospital here. Of course, I have only seen the hospitals around Delhi. Some of them is really in bad condition. That is only the hospital that I am talking about. The hospital's staff is another story: how they can keep the hygiene for the hospital while they, their own cloths are so dirty. What happened to me last December was, the nurses in my wad could ever forget my lunch and from that time I'm asking myself what else did they forget to give me or in the other way around.

India may have its medical skill but it does not know the service. How to serve people? They are far behind. Without the service, we will always feel unwelcome in this country.

The other story is the doctor: the doctor wants to do or to give you too much and for nothing....that's happening when you are foreigner. For most of my friend who has given birth here, it was a nightmare for them. A few weeks ago, one of my friend has given birth at one of the best hospital in Delhi and during the time that she had to push the baby out, the doctor was busy talking on his mobile phone. I 'm not sure if this had happened anywhere else.

If you are pregnant, I advise you to have a second opinion from other doctor. And then, check carefully the medicine which has been prescript to you. You'll never know.

It's Holi again...

Holi is celebrated at a time of the year when everyone has had enough of the chilly winter and looks forward to the warmth of the sun. Trees get fresh leaves that are at their glossiest best and th flowers begin to pop open to claim their share of fun in the sun. For this celebration you may look for your old T-shirt and pants as when you come back home, you won't look like a human but it is fun :-)).

Happy Holi to all.

The people and vegetables

Today, having lunch at Italian Cultural Center, New Delhi. For almost 3 years we leave here but we have never try to go. Well, about the food: it is good as it is really hard to find the authentic test in Delhi or I believe where ever in India. Italian foods has adopted with the Indian test (with curry or other spices). Not only here, it's happened everywhere. I am happy that Laurent still can join for lunch as at working place, they have a problem with the computer.....no internet means no work. This is the way how it works nowadays. But for some, they still have a time to complain about how they didn't receive a vegetable last saturday :-(. If receiving the vegetable every Saturday become so important in their life.....I really don't know what to say. Of course because it is for free :-)). Like....we have to grab all what is free.............yes, that is the people.

Yesterday, we had a great time having a BBQ with Lisa + two children, Yuka, Flavien, Ceydric and us. The menu is of course, lamb shoulder marinated with honey and mustard, tuna fish with herbs, prawn tikka and so many differences of salad. We enjoyed the good with the pleasant weather. Welcoming the spring time.....I could say this perhaps.

Tomorrow, well, I have to fly back to Malaysia....settle up what I have to do since lone time but I didn't have much time before. I just hope that I won't have to stay for a long time this time. We'll see.

Road to Langkawi

Tais on the beach of Pantai Cenang, Langkawi
7 January 2009

After spending 2 nights at Cameron Highland and enjoying the cool weather we continue our journey to Kuala Kedah with a hope that we will find a place to sleep there tonight or at least to arrive early to catch the ferry to Langkawi. Well on the way we stopped at Semenggol, Bukit Merah for a quick lunch then again on the road. The weather is hot. Some of us managed to sleep. Around 3.30pm we arrived to Kuala Kedah and we managed to get the tickets to Langkawi. The fare is about RM23.00 per adult and RM17.00 for each children above 3 years old. The trip takes 11/2 hours and finally we reached Langkawi at 18.00pm.

After a long journey in the car and the ferry, I guessed everyone of deserved a little of cold drink and snakes. We stopped for a while at KFC. Laurent and Francois tried to get a rental car; the price is about RM50 per day. So we have taken 2 cars. As Kampung Tok Senik Resort was ready to accept an early arrival, we headed there in the evening and we received a family suite. Sometime it is nice to travel during the low tourist season. We can have fun more and the hotel territory is so quite. So, lets have fun.........:-)

The photos and event will be updated later when we find a good internet connection or when we remember to take all of computer cable with us. Thank you very much to Starbuck Langkawi, to give us this opportunity to use a free wifi.

Back to Cameron Highland

Here we are in the nature again.....Cameron Highland. For Laurent and me, we come back here quite often and, for Ariane and Francois they were here at least 10 years ago with Elisabeth. To Babette, we can tell you that there has been so many changes from that time when you were here. I take this opportunity to fill up a little my blog which is hungry with the story since I left or ever since I was stuck in the hospital. The 6 Conus at the moment are enjoying the waterfall and hopefully Tais will accept the activity easily.

Well, tonight will be a second night we spent our time in Cameron Highland. 2 nights we sleep at Bala Guest House. Such a beautiful house, like Tais say "La belle maison". Old english house style, full with the flower all around us.....feels like we are in fantasy land. This morning, we visited the tea plantation and tried to explain to the children a little about the tea processing. Well Tais kept saying that she wanted to go home.....which home:-)).

Tonight, perhaps we will have a dinner at MerryBrown, a restaurant where we can find chips, noodles, rice and above all, a fried chicken. We just have too as the children needs to come back to their diet.

Tomorrow, we will head our journey to Kuala Kedah and will spend 1 night in the fishing village. As we have never been there before, I just hope that it will be easy to find a guest house and hope that Tais will be alright by the time she sees the sea. Sometime it is not easy for the a samll child to travel.

Once, I will have a connection internet again, sure there will be more to tell and more photos will be updated.

Big Kiss from Cameron Highland....from all of us, les 7 Conus.
